kink atx
This year, I’ve turned my creative gaze inward and back to one of my first loves, photography. It has returned to me as both joy and compulsion, a lens (literal and metaphorical) through which I explore the world.
For years, I’ve dreamed of creating a portrait series within the kink communities that have shaped me, from the Bay Area, Chicago, and NYC to my life now in Austin. These spaces have offered me freedom, power, and catharsis: places where we embody personas, confront desire and disgust, and push against the edges of our boundaries. In a world that so often tries to contain and sanitize what’s raw, messy, and misunderstood, kink offers a consensual stage to play, subvert expectations, and release.
This series captures a sliver of Austin’s scene so far, its arcs of energy, its flashes of connection, its quiet and ecstatic moments of embodiment. And it’s only the beginning.
