AUGUST 26 - MOODBOARD
August is always a transitional time and space. In the ancestral practices of my Gaelic lineage, Lughnasadh marks the first harvest, the beginning of autumn, and the honoring of Lugh. It arrives at the ending of peak summer, when we have given ourselves over to the sun, the heat, and the fullness of the season, and begin to feel the world turning beneath us.
It is eclipse season. It is Leo season. We are in a royal liminal: lounging at the edge of change, becoming extra sensory, allowing what is finished to fall away while receiving all that has ripened. The mood is saturated and slightly surreal. Deep purples, cobalt, black, flashes of berry and flame. Sheer layers, sculptural metal, exposed skin, soft armor, bread broken open, fruit at its darkest sweetness. Feast and lovers. Movement and mystery. The denouement of summer, where endings glow brightly enough to become beginnings.
