September moodboard

September arrives draped in structures. Lace filigree, skeletal frames, insect shells, cellular walls. It is a month of composition and decomposition, of webs spun and unraveling, of stone, bone, and fabric folding back into one another. The imagery is sculptural: garments that cocoon and swaddle, silhouettes that expand and contract like breath, textures that recall calcified reefs or delicate membranes.

The palette leans into cool tones and pale minerals, chalk whites, silvers, misted greys, shadows of black. High contrast abounds: the sharpness of a beetle’s shell beside the softness of knit, the void of eclipse against threads of light, the shimmer of water refracted into a spectral edge. Everything feels layered with transparency, as if surfaces are not walls but thresholds, lace veils, cellular grids, sheer drapery that both reveals and obscures.

Movement is subtle yet powerful: swirling forms, fluid draping, the illusion of wind in silk or the trace of a body through space. It’s a season of metamorphosis, where what is rigid begins to soften and what is fragile holds surprising strength. September carries the sensation of being wrapped and unwrapped, bound and unbound, caught in a dance of dissolution and reformation.

It is texture before color, shadow before form, atmosphere before clarity. September teaches us to dwell at the edges: the moment just before a flame, the stillness of bone, the echo of pattern repeated in stone, water, and sky.
